It’s time to finish my Wheat Field with Cypress, get it mounted on canvas bars, and varnish it. Once that’s done, I’ll have the space I need to start working on Starry Night. But, I may mount a second board in my oil studio that will allow me to paint two paintings at once... I'll take a hot-shower on that idea to decide.

This painting, ranked as the second most recognizable in the world, will be a challenge to take on. The reproduction below was painted by the talented artists at "Top of Art", (https://www.topofart.com/).

Their rendition is impressive! I compared their work to the image posted on its Wiki page, and they did an excellent job. The moon in their version is slightly too orange (it could use a touch of green and a little less saturation), but overall, it complements the rest of the painting beautifully. If Van Gogh had seen it, I think he’d have appreciated it. I also noticed the original needs restoration—the varnish hasn’t aged well, and some of the painting’s vibrancy has faded. You can really see the difference when comparing today’s version to Van Gogh’s original.

I color-corrected their version to get it as close as possible to the original. Feel free to compare for yourself!

The painting’s size is 29” x 36-1/4"—not too small, not too big. Just perfect! I even asked the artist how long it took to paint. I figure multiplying their time by three will give me a rough estimate of how long I’ll need. Wish me luck!

PS: I like how the Top of Art artist emphasized the church and its steeple as the focal point of the painting. Much more so than Vincent did.
