It's not finished... But, WoW!
Yesterday, I toned the canvas and added one or two colors, then finished painting the rest today. If you look closely at the top-center, you can see the silver paint really popping. I picked up a quart of special metallic paint from Home Depot (Glidden), designed for home accents. They had all sorts of metallic colors, and I might go back for a few more shades. I also grabbed gold, which I can’t wait to try out. I reworked painting number one yesterday too, and it looks fantastic now!
I’m learning so much as I go and getting more confident in making decisions about the direction each painting should take. The green tones in this one don’t show up well on my iPhone camera. The toned canvas was green and yellow, but with the new layers on top, it has a golden hue now. It’s fascinating to see how the layers transform!
I feel like a kid in kindergarten playing with paint—there’s no hesitation, just flick it on and let it go! I’m visualizing where I want the paint to land and learning how to control it better, even though it still has a mind of its own. I’m almost ready to pull out my big canvases and really let loose! I never expected to have this much fun with painting. It's fast, easy, thrilling, and fun!
