Home Depot BEHR Color Trends for 2025

Writer's picture: Robert HopkinsRobert Hopkins

Bob’s painting looked great on his entryway walls! I think he liked it—at least, I hope so! But hey, it’s the thought that counts, right?

After reflecting on Bob’s wall colors and how they interacted with his painting, I started thinking more about how my artwork’s color choices should align with current color trends. There are plenty of sources for color trends—Sherwin Williams, Pantone, Benjamin Moore, Vogue, Pinterest, and more—but for 2025, one thing is consistent across all of them: earth tones are in.

Since BEHR paints are the most convenient for me to buy, I decided to head to Home Depot today and grab sample sizes (8 oz) of all sixteen BEHR 2025 trend colors. The idea is that since these colors are designed to work well together, using them in my paintings should create a natural harmony. It’s worth a shot! I really struggled to make Number 5 come together in a cohesive way, so this might be a good solution.

The plan is to mix about 1 oz (30 ml) of the sample color into BEHR’s Alkyd Enamel base paint, which should make the small sample sizes last longer. If this approach works well, I’ll invest in quarts of each color. To stay organized, I’ll mark each can with the number of times I’ve used it and document the exact amount of sample paint added to each stage of a painting. Right now, I’m thinking a 30 ml sample-to-60 ml base paint ratio should work, but I’ll adjust as needed. Let’s see how this experiment goes!

And, here are the values of each color for comparison:
