CYMK Color Schemes for Paint Pouring
I'm running into some issues getting the BEHR Premium Alkyd Enamel Base Tint paint they used to create my Cyan and Yellow shades. Unfortunately, they couldn’t mix a primary red (Magenta) for me because they were out of the required base-tone white paint.
While I was in the shower today, I had a lightbulb moment! 💡 Why not buy one or two cans of the regular BEHR Premium Alkyd Enamel white paint (which they have plenty of) and mix in acrylic Cyan, Magenta, or Primary Yellow to get the shades I need?
To make this even better, I wondered if there’s a tool online where I could input a HEX color code and get a precise mixing ratio for the paint. Guess what? There is! A color-mixing calculator exists to provide percentages for approximate colors using basic CMYK inputs.
For my next painting, I’ll be incorporating a purple shade (my favorite color!), and coincidentally, I’m rocking my purple t-shirt today. 🎨💜
Here’s my plan for getting the perfect purple:
1. Input the desired purple HEX code into the color-mixing tool.
2. Use the tool’s output percentages to measure and mix the Acrylic Cyan, Magenta, Black, and White.
3. Experiment with small test batches until I achieve the ideal hue.
Stay tuned for the results! What do you think of this color-mixing adventure?
And here is what the website: https://colordesigner.io/convert/hextocmyk gives me in percentages:
With these four colors and their respective percentages, I have everything I need to create the perfect palette for each Abstract Expressionism piece. It’s a straightforward process that keeps things simple yet versatile! 🎨
